Best Practice Templates

Success Story Template

When writing a success story, please consider including the following elements in the story. This template is merely a guide to the brief article but should always showcase the individual’s achievements and what specifically helped them achieve their goals.

  • Name
  • How the individual found WIOA Program
  • Interests and Goals to pursue
  • General problems or areas they overcame to succeed respectful of their privacy
  • Program entered and what specific elements/components helped them to succeed in addition to case management element (if that was the element) that led to successful completion.
  • What they achieved (High School Equivalent/diploma, College degree, Specific Short Term Training,
  • WEX, Licenses (CDL/Nurse/Electrician/Others), continuing education, other.
  • Where they are now
  • Photo: at work, graduation, studying, volunteering, work experience
  • Optional comment/statement/quote from the participant.  For example, what they would want to say to another person with similar circumstances…. EX: “Never give up on your dreams. I am so thankful for the NextGen Program because it set me on a pathway that leads to a bright future.” or “There is help out there for you”, “People do care about you”,  or whatever they want to say in their own words.

Program Design Best Practice Template

When sharing a best practice that another Board can follow, please describe howto do it along with what it is. Please use the elements that relate to the best practice and delete/add others.
This is merely a template to help guide you in providing others to replicate your success. Thank you.

    1. What happens if a WEX site gets shut down due to COVID (or other disaster)?
    2. What happens if someone gets sick and cannot come to work or they get quarantined because a family member gets sick?
  9. How does the best practice impact performance?
    Example:If performance is 2Q – 80%, 4Q – 75%, Credential – 65%
